Erasmus accreditation in youth (KA150-YOU)

Starting June 2024, Asociația Monomyths is officially accredited under the Erasmus+ Programme Accreditation in Youth (KA150-YOU) – a milestone that marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for our organization, our partners, and the young people we serve.

This accreditation recognizes over a decade of dedicated work in empowering youth through joyful learning experiences, non-formal education, and lifelong learning. It is a vote of confidence from the European Commission and the Romanian National Agency in our mission to help young people and youth workers grow, connect, and lead with purpose.

What this means for Monomyths

The Erasmus+ accreditation allows Monomyths to plan and implement mobility projects in the field of youth with long-term stability and vision. It gives us the framework to deepen our impact, expand our partnerships, and invest in the growth of both young people and youth workers – following the Erasmus Youth Quality Standards.

Through this accreditation, we aim to:

  • Enhance life competences (LifeComp)  such as self-regulation, flexibility, wellbeing, empathy, collaboration, and critical thinking.

  • Support youth workers and volunteers in designing transformative, learner-centered experiences.

  • Create a European network of youth NGOs that share knowledge, co-create tools, and contribute to the EU Youth Goals.

  • Reach more young people in small and medium communities, especially those with fewer opportunities, and give them access to quality learning experiences.

Implemented activities during 2024 – 2025

In our first year of Erasmus+ accreditation, Asociatia Monomyths successfully implemented two Youth Exchanges and one Professional Development Activity involving Member States and associated countries.

Through these projects, we brought together 65 young people, 12 youth leaders, and 24 youth workers from 9 European countries to learn, collaborate, and build meaningful connections.

The TeamTalk: Building LifeComp Skills Together youth exchange brought together six youth NGOs to create a shared learning experience for 30 young people and 6 youth leaders. During the mobility, participants were introduced to the LifeComp framework and explored communication, collaboration, and empathy as three key meta-skills essential for shaping the future of social well-being.

Project objectives achieved:

  • O1: Improved the communication and collaboration capacity of 30 young people from six European NGOs through a 9-day youth mobility program in Călărași, Romania. Participants discovered the LifeComp framework, used non-formal learning methods, and applied reflection tools to take ownership of their learning.

  • O2: Increased awareness of the importance of communication and collaboration skills among over 180 young people through local workshops organised by the partner organisations, where participants shared the knowledge, tools, and experiences gained during the mobility.

  • O3: Enhanced young people’s employability and adaptability to labour market needs by creating a digital journal with short, practical videos offering tips and tricks for developing communication and collaboration skills.

Partner countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania, Slovakia, Spain
Implementation period: 6–16 September 2024 (travel days included)
Location: Călărași, Romania

The Future Ready: Building LifeComp Skills Together youth exchange brought together six youth NGOs to equip participants with essential life competencies such as flexibility and critical thinking. Using innovative non-formal education methods centered on foresight – the study of future trends and predictions – the participants explored how to anticipate and adapt to change. The activities made use of the comprehensive Foresight Toolkit developed by Monomyths Association over the previous two years.

Project objectives achieved:

  • O1: Equipped 35 young people from six European NGOs with essential life skills such as critical thinking, flexibility, and empathy through a 10-day youth mobility program in Călărași, Romania. Participants discovered the LifeComp framework and applied the Foresight Toolkit through interactive workshops, discussions, and foresight-based simulations.

  • O2: Raised awareness among over 180 young people about the importance of future consciousness, critical thinking, and flexibility, as well as the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ Programme, through six local workshops organised by partner organisations by July 2025.

  • O3: Supported young people’s employability and adaptability to future labour market needs by developing a digital journal featuring short, practical videos with tips and tools to enhance their future consciousness, critical thinking, and flexibility skills.

Partner countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania, Sweden, Spain
Implementation period: 8–19 May 2025 (travel days included)
Location: Călărași, Romania

The Growth Mindset: Building LifeComp Skills Together training course brought together 24 youth workers from seven partner organisations to strengthen their understanding of growth mindset, learning agility, and the neuroscience of learning. The program equipped participants with research-based techniques to enhance their role as educators and facilitators, empowering them to help young people cultivate continuous learning, resilience, and adaptability.

The training focused on the neuroscience of learning, emotional literacy, and growth mindset theory within the LifeComp framework. Participants explored theories of adult learning, learner typologies, and motivation models, and concluded the activity by co-creating four innovative non-formal learning methods based on the 5E model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate).

Project objectives achieved:

  • O1: Provided 24 youth workers from six European organisations with tools for developing a growth mindset, learning agility, and personalised learning strategies through a 7-day training course held in Bucharest, Romania, from 19–27 July 2025.

  • O2: Strengthened the capacity of the six partner organisations to design learner-centred programs by co-creating innovative educational methods and disseminating the results and good practices through local follow-up sessions and internal workshops.

Partner countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain
Implementation period: 19–27 July 2025 (travel days included)

Participant feedback & experiences

Don’t just take our word for it – hear directly from the young people and youth workers who have experienced our activities during the first year of Accreditation in youth. Their stories and feedback highlight the impact, growth, and opportunities that come from being part of this unique journey:

The overall project was impeccable. The program, the activities, the way the facilitators lead and communicated, everything was educational, interesting and engaging. It was the best youth exchange I have ever participated in and hope to be given the opportunity to participate in one of their projects again.

The integration with the local community in particular was exellent, we met people in the nearby town and engaged in educational events. The organizers were very supportive.

The organizers and facilitators were the best! they cared about everyone and treated all the participants like equals and you could tell that they care about everyone being involved without making anyone feel uncomfortable, so thank you! Also the activities were really interesting, fun and considerate of everyone's abilities, and we felt amazing while doing them.

The training course was exceptionally well-organized and the trainers were very competent and very well prepared. We learned a lot. Thank you for this golden opportunity.

The Youth Workers Mobility offered a rich and meaningful learning space, where diversity of experience, background, and perspective was genuinely welcomed. One of the most positive aspects was the depth of human connection created through interactive methods, personal sharing, and reflection circles. These allowed participants not only to learn about the Growth Mindset in theory, but to embody it through dialogue, storytelling, and vulnerability. I especially appreciated: The experiential methodology, which balanced cognitive input with emotional and relational learning. The intercultural setting, which enriched the learning through real-life examples and diverse insights. The commitment of the trainers, who modeled authenticity and openness while holding space with clarity and care.

This mobility was truly enriching. The program had a natural rhythm — a good mix of theory, playful learning, and emotional depth. The facilitators were warm, supportive, and genuinely present throughout. I really appreciated how safe and inclusive the group atmosphere felt. Activities like YOYO, LEGO and LARP made things memorable and fun.
Thank you for creating this space.
