Kick-off Meeting: Citizen Journalism Superheroes – Empowering Civil Society through Citizen Journalism

We are excited to share that the CJ Superheroes project officially kicked off with a two-day meeting on January 30–31 in Kiel, Germany. The event brought together project managers and youth workers from our partner organisations:

• Kultur Life (Germany) – project coordinator and host of the meeting

• Monomyths Association (Romania)

• Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Culture and Education (Bulgaria)

• Tavo Europa (Lithuania)

• Asociación Moviéndote por la Integración y la Participación Ciudadana (Spain)

The first day focused on key aspects of project management and quality assurance, introduced by Kultur Life. Tavo Europa presented the dissemination strategy, sparking a lively discussion about the project’s visual identity and how best to share the innovative training opportunities that CJ Superheroes will provide for adult learners.

In the afternoon, FECE (Bulgaria) introduced outcomes from their JOUR-YOU: Citizen Journalism Academy for Young People project, including a self-training online course on citizen journalism. The day wrapped up with presentations of the first draft structure of the CJ Superheroes lesson plans, which will serve as the backbone of the training programme.

The second day was dedicated to shaping these lesson plans together. Each partner contributed valuable input, ensuring the sessions and expected outcomes align with the project’s goals. The Monomyths team shared their expertise in gamification and educational design, drawing on experience from the Youth Finance Academy (YFA) project to inspire ideas for the upcoming CJ Superheroes Cardbox – a creative tool to support non-formal learning in citizen journalism.
