Monomyths prepares young people for the future: from the neuroscience of learning to foresight.

In a world marked by rapid change and uncertainty, competencies such as communication, collaboration, and continuous learning are no longer optional — they are essential. Through projects carried out under the Erasmus+ Youth accreditation, Monomyths creates international experiences that help young people and youth workers develop empathy, anticipate change through foresight, and understand the neuroscience of learning — empowering them to become the architects of their own future.

Monomyths Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth development, implemented between 2024 and 2025 three major projects within its Erasmus+ Youth accreditation, united under the theme “Future Skills.” The goal: to support young people and youth workers across Europe in developing LIFECOMP competencies — essential life skills that foster adaptability and employability.

  • TeamTalk: Building LIFECOMP Skills Together (September 2024) – a youth exchange involving six European NGOs that strengthened communication, collaboration, and empathy through non-formal education methods and reflection tools, preparing participants for integration into the labor market.
  • FutureReady (May 2025) – a project that introduced 36 young people to the world of critical thinking and adaptability, exploring foresight — a strategic analysis method that helps anticipate future scenarios and make informed decisions. In an uncertain world, foresight enables young people not just to be spectators of change but active agents shaping the future.
  • GrowthMindset (July 2025) – the first training course in Romania dedicated to youth workers on the topics of growth mindset and “learning how to learn.” This program went beyond theory, taking participants behind the scenes of the learning process: how our brain works when we learn, which cognitive biases hinder progress, and how to build personalized learning strategies to remain relevant in a constantly changing world. A growth mindset means believing that abilities can be developed through effort and strategy, while “learning how to learn” puts participants in the driver’s seat of their own development — transforming learning into a conscious, adaptable, and continuous process.

“We’ve been creating learning experiences for over 10 years, but now we want to bring science to their core. To understand what happens in our brains when we learn, what biases block us, and how we can build effective strategies. We were never taught how to learn in formal education, and in the age of AI, it’s even more important to be autonomous — to take responsibility for our own growth and have the tools to navigate an uncertain future.” — Alina Dumitru, Project Manager

The Erasmus+ Youth accreditation is a strategic tool that enables organizations to implement high-quality, long-term mobility activities. Monomyths is currently in its first year of accreditation, and these three projects mark the beginning of an ambitious plan to create ongoing opportunities for young people and youth workers — ensuring simplified access to funding and a strong, impact-driven approach.
